In this post, we'll look at the final tests in the first trimester that I wrote about last time and, in particular, the holidays.  

As the end of the first trimester approaches, the children begin to write tests and look forward to their month-long vacation.

You read that right! In Zambia, children write tests even in preschool.

After almost a month and a half, I am finally writing about our progress in kindergarten. We are in the second half of the rainy season and the middle of the first school trimester. Classes started on January 9 and will end on April 6. Then there will be a one-month holiday and the second trimester will begin. So what's new?

Foods and recipes are synonymous with a country, society, and culture. Zambia is one of the blessed countries that has successfully preserved its rich food varieties and recipes with time. Eating is ingrained in Zambian culture, from social events such as barbeques to pre-wedding events where a groom is treated to a buffet of traditional dishes from his bride's family.

The original idea came about seven years ago when I was volunteering at the Salesian Orphanage and Education Center in Zambia - I had the idea to start a school in Africa. Anyone can think of such an idea. But after just two years, in 2017, I was closer to making this idea a reality than others because I got married in Africa...
